111621 Island University Dance Professor Jilissa Cotten Works to Recover from Devastating Spinal Cord Injury
Last summer, Jilissa Cotten, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Dance Professor and Director of Dance, experienced a life-changing spinal cord injury during a trip to the beach.
Cotten spent the rest of 2020 working to recover her independence and in January 2021, she returned to the classroom. Forever changed, Cotten works on improving her ability to walk
and move even as she continues to teach her students.
